How to buy and sell GB

Short answer

You buy and sell GB player to player or through a broker site. On the site side the order is always the same: pick your server, compare the price, pay, give your character name, take delivery in game. Prices vary a lot from site to site, so never trade without comparing first.

There are two prices, don't mix them up

Every site has two prices for GB. One is the price the site sells to you, the other is the price it buys from you. When buying you pay the higher one, when selling you get the lower one; the gap is the site's margin.

That's why "GB is 400 TRY" means nothing on its own. You need to know which direction you're talking about. In the table below both prices sit side by side for every server, and the last column shows the gap.

A small gap means the market is active; if the gap has widened, buyers or sellers on that server have thinned out.

When buying GB

  1. Pick your server. Prices are separate per server, and GB bought on the wrong server is useless to you.
  2. Find the cheapest seller in the home page table. The gap can be a few hundred TRY.
  3. Check the site's minimum and maximum. Most sites don't sell below a certain amount.
  4. Pay, and type your character name correctly. A wrong character name is the most common problem.
  5. Wait in game for delivery. It's usually handed over by trade or through the market.
  6. Don't log your character out until delivery is complete.

When selling GB

  1. Find the site with the highest buying price in the table — the "when you sell" column.
  2. Check how much the site buys; some work with a daily buying limit.
  3. Create the request, enter your character details.
  4. Deliver the GB in game. If you hand it over through the market, account for the 3% tax.
  5. Wait for the payment to reach your account. If there's a fee, what you get is lower than what the site lists.

Market or trade?

There are two ways in game. If you sell through a stall in the Moradon market the transaction is safe, but 3% of the sale amount is taken as tax. If you trade, there's no tax, but you have to trust the other side.

When working with a broker site this risk usually isn't on you, because the payment or the goods sit with the site first. In a player-to-player deal there is no protection; don't hand over goods first to someone you don't know.

The most common traps

  • Looking at one site. The price of the same GB visibly varies between sites; trading without comparing is straight money loss.
  • Wrong server. GB you bought on Zero can't be moved to your Felis character.
  • Misspelling the character name. Delivery can go to someone else and can't be taken back.
  • Forgetting the tax. Sell 10 GB in the market and you get 9.7 GB.
  • Buying and selling right away. Because of the gap between the two prices this is always a loss.
  • Rushing. The price moves during the day; waiting a few hours can make a real difference.

Last check before trading

  • Is the server right?
  • Did you compare the price on at least three sites?
  • Did you type the character name letter for letter?
  • Does the site's minimum cover your trade?
  • If selling, did you work out what you'll get after tax and fees?
