Where yang really comes from
The most common mistake beginners make is thinking the yang monsters drop on the ground is the real income. That number becomes meaningless as you level up.
The real income comes from dropped items: you sell the items that come out while farming to players in the market. So "farming yang" in practice means "farming sellable items".
That's why when picking a farm spot you should ask not "how much yang drops here" but "what sellable stuff drops here".
Why metin stones are the most efficient job
- A metin stone leaves several and more valuable items in one go; it gives faster results than killing monsters one by one.
- They respawn regularly on certain maps, so you can build a route and cycle it.
- Most of the materials from stones are in demand, with buyers ready in the market.
- Building your gear for this widens the gap: metin and monster damage bonuses, critical and piercing hits, plus movement speed.
Where to go by level
Farming on the wrong map is the most expensive mistake. Breaking three stones an hour in a place that barely lets you survive earns less than breaking thirty stones in a place where you break them easily.
General rule: if you can drop a monster in two or three hits, you're in the right place. If you hit for a long time and kill with difficulty, go a step down.
The common route by level range: around the village and the first dungeons at low level; the spider dungeon and the valley/desert areas at mid level; the devil tower floors and the dense metin areas of the open world at high level. It can change by server and update; the right way is to look at the market on your own server and see which material is worth money.
Things that multiply your earnings
- Gear carrying yang drop and item drop bonuses. These work like multipliers; the more you stack, the better.
- Pet and mount passives. Some pets have earnings-boosting passives; keeping them on is free profit.
- Costume and potion systems. Timed bonuses can stack.
- Event periods. In drop-boosting events more items come out in the same time.
- Biologist and daily quests. Done regularly they pile up in the background.
So you don't lose what you earned
- Before selling a dropped item to the NPC, check its price in the market. Selling something with buyers to the NPC is the most common money loss.
- Collect as a set instead of selling one by one; a buyer looking for the whole set together pays a better price.
- Sell in the evening hours. As the player count rises, so do buyers.
- Material prices swing in event periods; selling at the moment everyone sells pushes the price down.
- Upgrading the low-level gear piling up in your inventory with the right enchant and selling it can be more profitable than selling it raw.
Farm or buy?
This is easy to work out. Measure how many Won you earn in an hour, then look at how many TRY 1 Won is on your own server. Compare the two and you'll see how many lira your hour is worth.
For current Won prices see the 1 Won in TRY page. I explained what the buying side means rule-wise in the is it forbidden article.
