Why Destan is different

Destan opened on 27 October 2012 and has not been part of a single merge since. While Dryads, Minark and Oreads were formed by merging old servers, Destan stayed on its own.

That matters for its economy. On a merged server, the coins and items of two or three separate economies are pooled overnight; supply multiplies at once. Destan never had such a break. The amount of coin here grew for fourteen years only through the game's own production.

The player side is just as uninterrupted: since the server never mixed with anyone, the community has been the same for years. In Knight Online that is rare.

Where the Destan price stands right now

Right now 9 sites give a price for Destan. 1 GB is 392 ₺ at the cheapest and 415 ₺ at the most expensive. The 23 ₺ (5.9%) in between is the price of nothing but which site you click.

Destan ranks 4th by price among 8 servers. The cheapest server is Felis; there 1 GB is 190 ₺, a 2.06× gap.

Over the last 30 days the price moved between 377 ₺ and 395 ₺; the band is 4.8% wide. Compared with the start of the month it is 1.8% higher.

How deep the Destan market is

The most concrete way to tell how much a server is played is the item market: how many listings are open, how many different items are listed. Destan is at the bottom end of that list, so its market is shallow.

On the Destan market there are 2,339 open listings for 877 different items right now. That is 7.2% of all the Knight Online listings we track; 6th server in the ranking.

The gap to Zero at the top of the list is 4.88×. Same game, same items; the only thing that makes the difference is how many people are there. That directly affects your odds of finding the item you want in a listing.

Your GB buys more items here

Looking at the 1 GB price, Destan is 0.81× Zero. But that is not what a player really asks: how many GB does the same item cost on the two servers?

We compared 175 items that have at least three listings on both servers. In TRY, Destan prices are 0.54× Zero. Convert the same items into GB and the ratio becomes 0.67.

Measured in GB, items are 33.5% cheaper on Destan. In practice: the GB you hold buys more items here than on Zero. The reverse is also true — the coin you farm is worth more TRY, but it does not buy proportionally more inside the game.

Destan's contradiction: GB expensive, market shallow

Intuition says: if the server is old, coins have piled up, and when coins are plentiful GB gets cheap. Destan does not confirm that — despite being a server from 2012, its GB price is in the upper ranks of the list.

More interesting is this: the GB price and item-market depth usually move together. On a crowded server GB is expensive and listings are plentiful. On Destan the two split — upper ranks in the GB ranking, lower ranks in the open-listings ranking. Put the two tables below side by side and the gap shows.

There is no single explanation for it, and we are not inventing one. One possible reason is that trading mostly happens inside the game without reaching the broker sites; another is that demand for coins is stronger than demand for items. The practical conclusion for you: before buying GB for Destan, check that the listing you plan to spend it on is actually open.
