Oreads: where the game's first servers merged
Oreads was formed on 9 March 2023 by merging Ares, Diez and Gordion. Ares and Diez were the first servers to open on the Turkish side of Knight Online, in 2004 — so the roots of the economy here go back more than twenty years.
What is inside Oreads
Oreads was formed on 9 March 2023. Two of the three merged servers, Ares and Diez, had opened on 14 August 2004: the first servers on the Turkish side of the game. Gordion was a server from a period close to theirs.
So Oreads is not a place you would call "a 2023 server" going by its formation date. Some of the characters, items and coins inside it date from the game's first years.
Where the Oreads price stands right now
Right now 8 sites give a price for Oreads. 1 GB is 320 ₺ at the cheapest and 335 ₺ at the most expensive. The 14.7 ₺ (4.6%) in between is the price of nothing but which site you click.
Oreads ranks 5th by price among 8 servers. The cheapest server is Felis; there 1 GB is 190 ₺, a 1.68× gap.
Over the last 30 days the price moved between 298 ₺ and 320 ₺; the band is 7.4% wide. Compared with the start of the month it is 6.7% higher.
How deep the Oreads market is
Nobody publishes player counts, but the item market gives them away. The number of open listings is a direct measure of how many people buy and sell on a server, and Oreads sits at the top end of that list.
On the Oreads market there are 4,737 open listings for 1,289 different items right now. That is 14.6% of all the Knight Online listings we track; 2nd server in the ranking.
The gap to Felis at the bottom is 5.32×. Both servers run the same game and drop the same items; the only thing that makes the difference is how many people are there.
| Server | Item types | Open listings |
|---|---|---|
| Zero | 1,381 | 11,416 |
| Oreads | 1,289 | 4,737 |

| Pandora | 930 | 4,325 |
| Dryads | 719 | 2,597 |

| Felis | 390 | 891 |
Your GB buys more items here
Looking at the 1 GB price, Oreads is 1.23× Minark. But that is not what a player really asks: how many GB does the same item cost on the two servers?
We compared 115 items that have at least three listings on both servers. In TRY, Oreads prices are 1.14× Minark. Convert the same items into GB and the ratio becomes 0.92.
Measured in GB, items are 7.6% cheaper on Oreads. In practice: the GB you hold buys more items here than on Minark. The reverse is also true — the coin you farm is worth more TRY, but it does not buy proportionally more inside the game.
| Oreads / Minark | Ratio |
|---|---|
| 1 GB price (TRY) | 1.23× |
| Item price (TRY) | 1.14× |
| Item price (GB) | 0.92× |
Median of 115 shared items; each is listed on both servers with at least three listings. Below 1 favours Oreads.
Many item types, little depth — what that means
The Oreads market has a shape of its own: the number of different items listed is very high, but the number of open listings per item is low. Put the two columns of the depth table below side by side and the difference shows.
The reason is twenty years of inventory. On servers played for a long time, players hold a wide variety of pieces from old periods that are no longer produced; these come up for listing one at a time. Daily trading volume, on the other hand, is not what it is on the crowded servers.
For a buyer it means this: on Oreads your odds of finding a rare piece are high, but when you find it there may be a single listing — little room to bargain, and possibly no second seller to compare prices with.
When buying for Oreads
The names Ares, Diez and Gordion still appear in old lists. The name "Ares" in particular is also used on the international side of Knight Online, so it can cause confusion; make sure the product is listed as Oreads.
